(SLU 05- <br /> was called to order at 10:45 a.m. in Waikoloa Beach Marriott Hotel, Alii <br />004/REZ 05-013) <br />Ballroom II, 69-275 Waikoloa Beach Drive, Waikoloa, Hawaii with Second Vice-Chairman <br />Kimo Alameda presiding. <br />PRESENT:C. GrahamHannah Springer <br />Rene Siracusa <br />Chris Yuen, Deputy Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />And approximately 10 people from the public in attendance. <br />APPLICANT: LAVA KUAKINI, INC. (SLU 05-004/REZ 05-013) <br />Continued hearing on the following requests: <br />a. State Land Use boundary amendment for 14 acres from the Agricultural to the Urban District. <br />b. Change of Zone for 14 acres from an Agricultural 5-acre (A-5a) to a Multiple Family <br />Residential 2,500 square foot (RM-2.5) district. The property is located along the northeast <br />side of Kuakini Highway, adjacent to and south of the Kona Hillcrest Subdivision, Kahului 1, <br />st <br />North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-5-17: portions of 2 and 5. <br />ALAMEDA:Okay folks, were taking up agenda item number 2. The applicant is Lava <br />Kuakini, Inc., SLU 05-004 and Rezoning 05-013. This is a continued hearing on the following <br />requests. Request A, State Land Use boundary amendment for 14 acres from the Agricultural to <br />the Urban District. Request B, Change of Zone for 14 acres from an Agricultural 5-acres to a <br />Multiple Family Residential 2,500 square feet district. For reference this white line running in a north-south <br />directionisQueenKaahumanuHighway.Thisparticularlineherethatsidentifiedinredand <br />white is Kuakini Highway.
