To consider discipline and charges against employees of the HawaiÒi County Fire
Department where consideration of matters affecting privacy will be involved and
a closed session is requested, and to consult with Corporation C
questions and issues pertaining to the commissionÓs powers, duties, privileges,
immunities, and liabilities. (Pursuant to HRS 92-5(2) and HawaiÒi County Charter
Section 13-20(b) ).

addressed to First Hawaiian Bank recognizing Firefighters Kendall Ueda, Paulino
Austria, Neil Yoshioka, Gregory Kane, Joseph Camara and Michael
and Fire Rescue Specialist David Minor for their participation in the East HawaiÒi
PrimeTime Health Fair at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel along with thank you letter from
First Hawaiian Bank regarding the same event.
Correspondence No. 02-113 RE: Letter from Fire Chief Darryl Oliveira to Council
Vice-Chair J. Curtis Tyler, III commending Firefighter John Dykes, Jr. for his
efforts to improve public safety and fire protection along with letter of appreciation
from J. Curtis Tyler, III regarding John Dykes, JrÓs. efforts to improve public
safety within the Kalaoa community.
Correspondence No. 02-114 RE: Letter from Fire Chief Darryl Oliveira to Mrs.
Karen Maedo, Chair, HawaiÒi Fire Commission transmitting a promotional
announcement of eight Fire Captains and copies of two memoÓs from Fire
Inspectors that attended a two-week Fire Inspection Principles c
by the National Fire Academy.

Reginald J.W. Chong regarding the recognition of Captain Tracy Yanagi and
Firefighters Wade Ferreira, Stephen Erb and Michael Ichimura for their
participation in the Boy Scouts of America - Aloha Council Camporee along with
