We are local businessmen on the West side of the Big Island, and have closely followed the application of Phil Tinguely (PL-SMA-2023-000036). We wanted to send a letter of support for this project for the following reasons: Phil Tinguely is well-established kama'aina who has worked on many commercial, residential and non-profit projects for our community. We believe he is aware of the needs, challenges and cultural sensitives of our community. He has ensured that his proposal complies with the zoning designation for the area, the County General Plan and the Kona Community Development Plan. The project has also been reviewed by the Kailua Village Design Committee, and appears to be consistent with the character and intention of the Village. Phil has also taken steps to respect the infrastructure of the area, and ensured the project will not negatively impact the cultural or natural resources. We believe that this project will create a vibrant, aesthetic, family-friendly property that will both support local businesses...and create lifelong memories for travelers around the world who yearn to experience the magic of our beautiful town. We encourage you to please approve the application of Tinguely Development for the improvement of our local area.
