Aloha,
My name is Monica Akamu,a Hawaiian native of Ka'u,Hawai'i.I am writing in opposition to the Punalu'u
development.Punalu'u should remain the beautiful,pristine coast it is.Although I appreciate what Eva Liu and her
team has accomplished,especially the cleanup at the old restaurant and surrounding area,especially since I grew up
dancing hula there as a little girl. I do not believe that the proposed development and the pros they believe it will
bring out ways the majority of what the native people of Ka'u know is right for them,the species that call it home
and the iwi that remain there.Please hear us,the people of Ka'u. We do not want this development.
