Subject: Opposition to development in Ka'u

Aloha,
I am a business owner, a Hawaii schoolteacher, and a former Ka'u resident.
Myself and my family vehemently oppose this development that is being proposed in
Punalu'u. One of the last undeveloped coastlines in Hawaii and needs to be protected. The
rural character and slow country living is a huge part of why residents of this island cherish
the district.
I am appalled that an EIS has not been done yet. It makes me truly wonder what is happening,
and whose palms are being greased, at the county level when these plans get pushed forward.
We are saying the same level of pro development as opposed to pro local community
happening up at Pololu valley. Shame.
Please take my comment into consideration.
