Kunz Housing Administr tor SUBJECT: QUARTERLY REPORT ON 201H APPLICATIONS PER RESOLUTION 431-20 DIRECTING HAWAII COUNTY TO STRATEGICALLY ADDRESS ITS ESCALATING HOUSING CRISIS WITH URGENCY,DATED JANUARY 22,2020. The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) submits the quarterly report as requested by Resolution 431-20 Directing Hawai`i County to Strategically Address its Escalating Housing Crisis with Urgency, dated 1/22/20. The following provides an overview of all pending HRS §201H applications as of October 20, 2023: I.NEW HRS 4201H APPLICATION 1.Kuakini Heights(TMK (3)7-5-003:007) On September 25, 2023, Kuakini Heights Housing Partners, LP submitted a 201H application requesting approval for certain exemptions. During this quarter,the Applicant held a community meeting about the project on September 18, 2023. OHCD continues to work with the Applicant on revising their application for completeness. Upon OHCD's acceptance of the application, it will be distributed to State and County departments for review and comments before proceeding to the County Council for approval. The project proposes to develop a 100-unit affordable housing project located in Kailua Kona, Hawai`i on a 10.529 acre parcel to serve households at less than 60% of the Area Medium Income (AMI). 3296pamb 011 EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITY Hawaii County Housing Agency October 20, 2023 Page 2 II. ACTIVE HRS 4201H APPLICATION 1. Hualalai Court (TMK: (3) 2-4-028:009) On April 19, 2023, Hualalai Court, LLC submitted a 201H application requesting approval for certain exemptions. The Applicant held a community meeting about the project on June 15, 2023. The Applicant submitted final revisions on September 27, 2023. OHCD accepted the final application and submitted it to State and County agencies for their review and comments on September 28, 2023. The project proposes to develop a 104-unit affordable housing project located in Hilo, Hawaii on a 3.29-acre parcel. The project plans to build and rent 26 units serving households between 30-50%of the AMI, and 78 units serving households up to 100%AMI.
