I own a real estate brokerage company called Disney Associates LLC and have
worked in real estate since 1986.
1 support Bill 121 and any Hawaii County law disallowing vacation rentals in
residential and agricultural zoning. If legally in use and/or grandfathered in and/or
Hawaii resident living on site has a vacation rental by THEY MUST register that rental
with the County and PAY GE, STATE & FEDERAL taxes on the rental.
I believe visitors should stay in Resort and CV zoned areas and not where residents
live. Visitors are safer with proper support services in Resort districts. The
expectations of a person on vacation are elevated and more demanding when here
for short time period compared to a permanent resident living here for a year or
lifetime.
