Testimony for Bill 121 Streamlining Health and Safety Regulations
To whom it may concern at the Windward Planning Commission,
I am writing to address the proposed requirement for a health and safety affidavit,
which seems redundant given our robust building codes. Homeowners like myself
are already diligent about safety and legal compliance when constructing our
homes. This additional certification would only serve to complicate and potentially
duplicate efforts that the building department already oversees.
I recommend that the commission considers removing this affidavit requirement to
prevent unnecessary duplication of regulation and to streamline the process for
homeowners, ensuring that we focus on what truly matters to providing safe and
welcoming accommodations for our guests.
Respectfully,
Merry Allen
