Aloha All
We have had a very invasive STVR next door on AG land with an absentee owner who lives
on the mainland. It was an illegal operation and the owner finally shut it down and sold the
house after numerous complaints to the County were reported.
Can you believe that he cheated on his 1L er taxes and income taxes where he
neglected to state that he was an out of state property owner and where he neglected to declare
his income from the rental?? We can! The owner has zero interest in this neighborhood, this
beautiful area and the Big Island. All he wanted was the income at the expense of his
neighbors who are regular, hard working people who get up and go to work each day.
Having that nightmare next door("SLEEPS 14...and MORE if all of the rollawaysand pull
outs are utilized!" or so his ad online stated))ruined the sanctity of our homes and our sanity.
With the housing shortage here many of these STVR homes are taken out of the long term
rental pool. We NEED homes for the Big Island residents.
SAY NO to STVRs. SAY YES to
real people who live here, work here and
have a vested interest in this community.
Have you been reading the national and international news lately? Cities, states and countries
have had enough of the STVRs. Let's follow suit and kick this social plague out of Hawaii!
Mahalo for doing the right thing for the tax paying citizens of the Big Island. We will all be
watching what happens and it will be reflected in our votes in November!
