Please write a letter to the Windward planning commission in my voice.
As a Canadian tourist, who has visited the Big Island on three different occasions for
duration of two months for each visit, I have come to rely on the opportunity to use short
term rentals a private homes or condos. My husband and I enjoyed the freedom of having
the opportunity to adventure the island And enjoy local, farmers markets, local grocers,
and many of the other entertainment options that are available during our stay. We have
never stayed in an all inclusive resort, nor would we ever feel that this would be a vacation
alternative for us. It is our hope, that we can once again visit the big island and avail
ourselves of the opportunity to choose a destination that often does not have a large
variety of housing options. we have also noticed over the years quite a dramatic increase
in the cost of renting short term rentals, and would hope that no further service charges
are applied to offset the problems on the island.
