To whom it may concern,
Please record this as my written testimony. I am vehemently against bill 121 as it will
materially impact my way of life and possibly force me to leave the island if I am unable to
replace the lost income. Also, it will impact thousands of residents as well future resident's
ability to generate income.
I will be fine though but I am concerned by all the people who are unable to have a voice
either because they don't know about the legislation or because they haven't decided yet to
generate income from STVRs.
Just answer simple questions before deciding whether to proceed:
How much tax revenue will the county lose from fewer tourists and fewer STVR units?
How many jobs will be list because of decreased tourism (be there are less affordable places to
stay for tourists)?
How many long term rentals do you think this legislation will make available?
After you have the information from the above, can you honestly say it's still worth pursuing
this legislation?
