Aloha planning commission,
I am a senior citizen.
My short term rental is my only source of income.
I will definitely not rent as a long term rental here in my home, due to the
fact that,
I do not have any legal rights in case I have to remove renters, (they can
remain for months or years) I can get punished for evicting them.
Even though they will not pay their rent...
If they damage my home or the surrounding area...
Please do not destroy the many lives of people who have been paying their
STIR taxes to our government county and state for short term rentals.
We are cooperating precisely as we should, we have done nothing wrong.
Please allow us to continue as we have for many years, serving local folks
and tourists who want to stay with us. Many of us are elderly citizens and
have no other income. (we would then ultimately become homeless if you
take away our livelihood)
Please reconsider as if it was your mother or grandmother accommodating
short term rentals for our Ohana or tourists looking for a quiet place to stay.
