From: Jill Meyers <br /> To: LPCtestimony <br /> Subject: Regarding Bill#121 <br /> Date: Wednesday,April 17,2024 11:49:04 AM <br /> Aloha planning commission, <br /> I am a senior citizen. <br /> My short term rental is my only source of income. <br /> I will definitely not rent as a long term rental here in my home, due to the <br /> fact that, <br /> I do not have any legal rights in case I have to remove renters, (they can <br /> remain for months or years) I can get punished for evicting them. <br /> Even though they will not pay their rent... <br /> If they damage my home or the surrounding area... <br /> Please do not destroy the many lives of people who have been paying their <br /> STIR taxes to our government county and state for short term rentals. <br /> We are cooperating precisely as we should, we have done nothing wrong. <br /> Please allow us to continue as we have for many years, serving local folks <br /> and tourists who want to stay with us. Many of us are elderly citizens and <br /> have no other income. (we would then ultimately become homeless if you <br /> take away our livelihood) <br /> Please reconsider as if it was your mother or grandmother accommodating <br /> short term rentals for our Ohana or tourists looking for a quiet place to stay. <br /> A sincere mahalo, <br /> Jill Meyers <br />
