I am from the island of Kauai. My tutu grew up on the Big Island <br /> and my family's genealogy on both my mother and father's side trace back to the island of <br /> Hawaii. We are connected to this `aina. <br /> The development of Punalu`u will damage the ecosystem and will have negative impacts on <br /> the local families who have physical, spiritual, and historical ties to this place. Protect our <br /> `aina and protect our people. I speak generally as I am not a resident of Hawaii island but we <br /> do not need more resorts. We do not need more golf courses. We do not need more units for <br /> foreign part-time or full time residents. We do not need luxury shopping centers.
