To whom it may concern,
My name is John Lomp.I have been a resident of the big island since 2019.In regards to plans entertaining a resort/
development at Punalu'u,I am AGAINST.Wild open spaces like Punalu'u and Kau'are precisely what make the
big island the big island.Changing that,especially to alter the landscape explicitly to accommodate more tourists is
not progress.It's not an improvement.Creating more affordable housing, sustainable development and
infrastructure,and intentionally serving the existing residents of the big island.Fostering community and
opportunity,that would be a step worth taking.If that is not feasible,leave it alone.If you cannot or will not serve
the community first.At least don't mess it up and make it worse for those that live here.
