From: Loke Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele
To: WPCtestimony
Subject: Punalu'u
Date: Thursday,March 14, 2024 6:55:10 PM
Aloha,
Please deny the Shoreline Management Area/SMA permit extention for Black Sands Beach
LLC at Punalu'u.
This just can't be. The Environmental Impact Statement has not been done! There is a reliance
on an old one that is almost 20 years old and not for this particular project proposal. The
owner has not kept her word to do what she said she was going to do.
How can anyone possibly say the beach would not be affected with the quantity of large
building of 3-5 bedroom buildings and 1-3 bedroom buildings disguised as bungalows? The
addition number of people that would be staying there will inundate the beach.
This area is the tidal wave district and has happened before with the last operating entity and
no development should happen because of that very reason. A 1%possibility is very deceptive
because when the 1%happens it is devastating.
This place needs to kept for the future generations being able to perpetuate living the Way of
the Kanaka Maoli! There are no places left!
There are endangered species that will be wiped out and never to be seen again.
The light will disturb the turtles natural breeding and birthing.
The community worked hard creating the CDP and this project does not qualify under the
CDP. This is not what the majority of people want.
Please say NO!
Mahalo!
Janice Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele-Keanaaina
P. O. Box 6915
Ocean View, HI 96737
Malama Pono
