Aloha Windward Planning Commissioners,
I am writing to you in support for Black Sands Beach LLC. I believe that the plan that they
have is not invasive on our aina. I see in there plans that they are not touching areas that
weren't touched already, and this is something I appreciate. I know the planning
department has there specifics that will have to be done as well and I am so thankful
that Mr. Kern is really taking this seriously on the specifics that need to be completed. I
have talked to a Kupuna in Ka'u that really has helped me understand what Black Sands
Beach LLC will be doing and what they would like to accomplish with the shoreline
management plan and also how they are willing to work with the people of Ka'u. This
makes my heart so happy. I have also been made aware that we already have a local girl
that is a part of their team as their Property Manager, and I must say she is doing an
amazing job. I recently met her at the Prince Kuhio Ho'olaule'a the passion that drives
her is amazing. I believe that change will happen, but if we can do it the right way it can
be pono for all of us. And I believe that the way they are approaching and willing to do it
is pono.
Mahalo,
Remi
