Aloha, I am writing to testify AGAINST the proposed development of Punaluu beach. The
proposal outrageously does not take any environmental concerns into consideration! This is a
very tiny beach area that is a nesting site for endangered sea turtles. This area also has
endangered Nene's that live there. It is obvious that an environmental impact study was NOT
done and someone was bribed for this proposal to already have any kind of approval at the
county level.
I have lived in Ka'u for 20 years and understand the need for jobs but this proposal goes far
beyond what the fragile environment can withstand. Also, the local elementary school
is already substantially overcrowded with no ability to take on a large number of new students
that this development would probably bring.
Please reject this proposal.
