From: Debbie Misaion
To: WPCtestimony
Subject: NO Punalu"u Development
Date: Monday,March 11,2024 9:04:18 PM
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to request the extension for Black Sands Beach LLC at Punalu'u be denied.
Hawaii needs to stop tourism development given the fragile ecosystem and limited resources for the
community. If Hawaii would discontinue further tourism development, then the price to entry would
increase which would increase tax revenues. I'm not suggesting that tourism should be only for the
wealthy. Rather, I am saying the Hawaiian Islands should be as expensive to visit as they are to live
in. Tourists should have to save and budget to enjoy the destination, they should be encouraged to
plan to come every other year, even every third or fifth year. The current race to the bottom that
has been created by developing pristine property and making the islands mostly affordable for all
tourists, all the time, must stop. Hawaii doesn't have the environmental resources, i.e., water, to
welcome tens of thousands of tourists annually, wash their sheets daily, and fill their undrunk cups
of water at the restaurants, and the people of Hawaii deserve a pleasant life and a home to live and
enjoy that isn't exploited by multinational companies that pay low to moderate wages at best.
No to Black Sands Beach LLC at Punalu'u.
Warm regards and aloha,
Debbie
DEBBIE MISAJON A,AM BASSADOR
FOUNDER OF THE COCONUT TRAVELER
.i e, ,oniY a.noee a corn sPecairng m mire lou..-h
—9ooe.n me
ae:poe:nie rormv
.emaameer.eaa,n agr
weesne wne.e roca9aiiroe or o.,1.1-tiog ou
