Aloha Windward Planning Commission:
I (and our ohana) am strongly in opposition of this massive development
project.
It does not address the environment, infrastructure and access to the beach
for us local people.
As an owner of a unit at the Colony in Punaluu, I know first hand the
importance of Punaluu for the turtles and environment.
We are constantly reminded of the water, electricity and other
infrastructure needs. After seeing the Lahaina fire it is time to address our
infrastructure first.
After viewing the summary plans, it also does not consider the local
community to have a safe easy access to the aina and beach we love.
There are so many issues with this development I pray the Windward
Planning Commission will not approve this permit until due diligence is
completed and issues are addressed so that the development fixes the
infrastructure first, considering the environment and the local style of living.
