There are many sites of religious significance and burial grounds scattered throughout the area, particularly in the area designated for resort development. I would hope that the voices of the local generational population should carry great weight in that regard. 2) The wildlife. This is a natural area. KA'U is one of the few remaining large areas with very little development. It's not that there isn't room to start developing on the fringes of the many tourist areas that aleady exist on the island without converting Ka'u Don't pressure the Turtles. 3) Tsunamis! This is a Tsunami zone and also known for earthquakes (6.2 Richter 3 miles away a few weeks back) and volcanic activity. I could possibly be supportive of parts of the plan, but the total scope is too large and would substantially harm the area. The number of dwelling and especially lodging units is excessive. The infrastructure that is there is grossly insufficient for what is there now and while an upgraded infrastructure plan would be great and could safely be done to support some additional load, but I fear that in order to accommodate the usage of so many people would necessarily be harmful to the ecology of the area. Respectfully submitted. Thomas Charles Legg owner of Unit 49 Colony One at Punalu'u 2214 Crowley St Muskegon,MI 49441 Tom Legg Owner Unit#49 Colony One Ninole Loop Rd, Pahala Colony One
