Aloha commissioners,
I hope that you hear the communities near and far:We are opposed to Agenda Item 3—PL-SMA-2023-000046 for
development at Punalu'u.
These bad ideas keep floating around.And things haven't become more akamai for building this resort since the first
time it reared its ugly head.Water,wastewater,sea level rise,nearshore resources,native birds,honu and other
endangered and fragile species,community,culture,increase population in a place with no infrastructure to
handle...the list goes on.
I'm not one of the lucky ones to be able to frequent this area on a regular basis,but my husband and I consider a
huge treat to have time to stop on the Punalu'u coastline when time on our hilo trips permits.
Please do the job you were meant to do by voting"NO"to this ill-placed,ill-timed and seriously unwanted
development and the SMA that would allow it to move forward.
