From: Leeva Chun <br /> To: WPCtestimonv;Council Remote Testimony <br /> Subject: Testimony in Opposition of Black Sand Beach LLC <br /> Date: Tuesday, March 5,2024 4:19:26 PM <br /> Aloha... <br /> My name is Leeya Chun and I come from`Ohara that are from Punalu'u Hawaii.Punalu'u was/is the home to many <br /> generations of family on my mother's side.My two great grandfathers were respected fishermen of that bay and <br /> both of my great grandmother's made/make a living through the lei stand located there. <br /> I am writing to voice the opposition of granting approval for Black Sand Beach LLC's request for a special <br /> management area permit.I strongly believe their plan of action will not benefit the current residents at this time. <br /> Punalu'u is widely known for being a nesting ground and daily habitat for the ENDANGERED Green Sea Turtle.I <br /> demand a new Environmental Impact Study be done to protect this area from unnecessary development as the <br /> current one in place is over 20 years old. <br /> I feel that no benefits for the people of Ka'u will come with doing business with Black Sand Beach LLC. <br /> Mahalo for your time and consideration. <br /> Leeya Chun <br />
