As some one who grew up spending time at my families property on the beach at Punalu'u since I was a young child, I have witnessed the importance of preserving the area for future generations and the people of Hawaii. The proposed development represents everything that should be kept as far away from Ka'u as humanely possible. The developers only concern is profit and exploitation of an area that has continued to been undeveloped for hundreds of years. There has not been the proper due diligence to allow such a development to even be considered by the state of Hawaii and its unscrupulous officials.
