Subject: Puna'lu'u Development
Date: Wednesday,March 6,2024 8:40:11 AM
To whom it may concern:
As a longtime resident in the town of Na'alehu,we strongly oppose the proposed development of thePuna'lu'u
Black Sands Beach area. There are several key issuers that most people are aware of,including the fact that the area
is already inundated with too much traffic(and the resulting strain on infrastructure/increasing levels of trash),but
most important of all is that the Ka'u coastline is one of the last remaining(and arguably, most beautiful in all of
Hawaii).Once development, such as what is currently proposed,is allowed this island heritage will be lost forever.
There are many other locales in Hawaii, some here on Big Island(Waikoloa,Kona)where the I'll effects of
development can already be observed and the Ka'u corridor will not be exempt from those, once developments such
as the proposed get a foothold in this special place.
Sincerely,
David Human
