I am writing to urge you to deny this SMA and encourage you to support the
ongoing dialogue between the owners of the property and the Ka`u Advisory Board
in achieving the best result for this wahi pana. I believe the owners of the property
are sincere in their efforts and truly credit them in trying to understand the value of
this ahupua`a. Rarely have the voices of the people of the land been acknowledged
when developers are involved resulting in so many adverse issues to our islands. I
