Esteemed Chairperson Lin and Members of the Windward Planning Commission,
The proposed quiet hours within Bill 121,while well-intentioned,present an overly restrictive and subjective
measure that fails to consider the vibrancy and cultural celebrations intrinsic to our island life.Existing noise
ordinances are crafted with the community in mind,striking a balance between tranquility and festivity.I write to
you as both a homeowner who has hosted numerous cultural celebrations and as a neighbor who has experienced the
joy of participating in such events.These experiences should not be curtailed by stringent regulations that do not
recognize the diversity of our lifestyles.
We should put our trust in our current noise ordinances,which have served us well,rather than introducing new
policies that could hinder the community's ability to celebrate our heritage and fellowship.
