Hawaii cannot count on hotel revenue taxed as a cash cow that will never end. There
is too much competition throughout the world where the U.S. dollar goes a lot further for
accommodation and amenities. For example countries in Asia like Japan and the Philippines,
where a truly 4 star hotel can be had for the price of a 3 star hotel here in Hawaii let alone a 4
star.
One suggestion that will help in contributing to a solution is to significantly decreasing the
approval time for the construction and renovation of homes.
Sincerely,
Tony Beliso
