Aloha Hawaii Planning Commission
As a resident of Volcano for over 20 years, I strongly oppose the development concept via
Black Sand Beach LLC to develop residential and commercial activity at Punalu'u
Punalu'u is already at capacity. By adding all of these proposed dwelling and residential units,
it will only drive away long time local families that depend on the beaches to fish, talk story
and spend time with Ohana and keiki.
Further, Punaluu is one of very few nesting sites in the world for the critically endangered
Hawksbill sea turtle and other creatures.
There is also culturally significant heiau and other things in the area that will only become
trampled and not respected.
No Kau development!
