Short term rentals should be allowed for agricultural zoning to 6. For agricultural stays to help owners manage the land, offset increasing taxes and to promote ag tourism. 7. Require owners of land to be residents and on property 8. Making agricultural land productive requires a lot of money and labor this would address both 9. Short term rentals would require documented work on the land by guests. Owners would need to keep records and submit records when requested. Minimum of 2 Hours per day, minimum stay 3 days. Longer stay requirements would not work as not too much to do in rural areas, but should be allowed Particular area referenced is from Hookena beach area to ocean View 10. Tax would be collected and submitted for such stays. 11. Help with farm worker shortage and increased labor costs. Weed whacking alone is up to $40 an hour. 12. Feral pigs are a huge problem and the cost to install fencing is prohibitive. This reduces the ability to use the land for food, crops etc. Having labor avail will help offset labor costs. 13. Because these are owner occupied, its supports local agricultural land and allows these lands to become real farms by offsetting the costs for labor abd allowing another source of income. No out of state owners buying land to make a quick dollar. Not in competition with hotels as are agricultural stays. 14. Taxes have increased immensely and current residents need help paying for these new taxes. 15. Good for education, cultural awareness, promoting farming and crop production, supporting residents. No short term rentals should be allowed by non resident owners of property. Nothing is contributed to our island. This would also stabilize pricing and allow more locals the opportunity to buy property, supporting local cultural, keeping families here in their homeland. Otherwise the properties will be owned and run by non residents who contribute nothing and we will have no young people here to support our island. We don't want the problems of Maui and Oahu here and it's your kuleana to make sure if that. Mahalo Virginia Ramos-Opihale Captain Cook
