To the Windward Planning Commission,
I am a homeowner with a transient accommodation rental(TAR) on the Big Island. The
broad brush with which 'gatherings' are painted in Bill 121 threatens to wrongly engulf
professional services we utilize. Our rentals and our way of life require clarity, not
confusing laws that could turn a simple personal training session into a regulatory fiasco
requiring special permits. This bill must be amended to explicitly exclude home services
from being categorized as 'events'.We need clarity for homeownership to remain
practical and hospitable.
