Hello County of Hawaii Windward Planning Commission,
Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is a beautiful historic beach on the big island of Hawaii. I grew up
in Ka'u and wholeheartedly believe that, although I still I do not remain a resident, destroying
this beautiful piece of nature would be a detriment to the islands. Locals and tourists alike are
able to enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness this beach has to offer. Not to mention the native
marine life, our beautiful sea turtles. There is too much development not only in Hawaii but all
around the world, but some areas need to remain untouched. I do however feel the area should
be cleaned up. I vote to preserve Punalu'u for all to enjoy and bask in its beauty.
