Aloha mai kakou,
Today I am writing you this testimony in opposition for the development that has been brought to you by Black
Sand Beach LLC.As many of you know,Punalu`u Black Sand Beach means a lot to the great community of Ka`u.
We don't see it as just any beach;we see it as our home.Many of us grew up there,as I am one of those that went
there almost every weekend.
Punalu`u brings so much meaning to my `ohana`s lives.My great-grandmother was born and raised there.I now
take my daughter,my hiapo,to the place I grew up swimming at.My daughter loves Punalu`u and every time we
go,to see the shoreline masked by tourists,then to think about the development and how much more tourists will
flock to our beautiful`Aina,breaks my pu`uwai.
We love our home,Punalu`u,exactly the way it is.All I am humbly asking,as well as the people of Ka`u,is for you
to oppose this bill and stop any development from happening.
