From: S. Herrington
To: W PCtesti mono
Subject: Punalu'u Development
Date: Monday, May 6,2024 9:55:40 AM
My name is Nacoma Herrington and I was born on the big island and raised in Ka'u.I attended Na'alehu
Elementary and Ka'u High.I now live in Kea'au but still travel to Ka'u often.I am against the development at
Punalu'u.
What happens when this developer sells her resort? The new owner will do what they see fit. What happens if Tutu
Pele comes to Punalu'u again? The lava can easily reach the east side of Punalu'u if the flow comes towards Ka'u.
What happens when the next offshore earthquake happens off Ka'u and a tsunami hits? This is not a good place for
a resort!Plus, the majority of Ka'u residents and Big island residents don't want the resort.
I agree with Guy Enriques that Punalu'u should be sold to the open space fund so we can finally rest and not worry
about outsiders trying to exploit and make money off Ka'u!Kapu Ka'u!
