Dear Chairperson Defranco:
We have an owner-occupied STVR and have provided previous comments about
the economic impacts Bill 121 would have on our ability to rent out a portion of our
home for extra income. We are unable to attend the hearing on May 22nd but
would like to request that you do not pass Bill 121 because an economic
impact study on how this bill will impact manySTRV owners has not been conducted.
We believe there will be many detrimental impacts to the local community who will not
be able to stay in their homes if they cannot rent out part of their house to help pay
the mortgage.
We also request that you invite a member of the Ohana Aina Association to the
table to answer questions about the impacts of Bill 121 . We hope that you will
consider these requests to give our association a voice at the table.
Sincerely,
Julie Eliason and Robert Bojorquez
