Aloha Honorable Chairperson,
I encourage you to oppose bill 121. Please ask the writer of the bill the following questions to
help you make a decision:
How many STVRs will be removed from the market because of this bill? How much will that
cost the county? How many of those do you expect to switch to long term rental? How many
less tourists will come to the island because of the decreased housing and as a result how
many jobs and how much less tax revenue do you expect?
They won't be able to answer because they don't know and haven't bothered to look into it.
That is no way to run a decision making process let alone a multi billion dollar economy. You
need all the facts and both the pros and cons and I'm dumbfounded why the council has
pushed this bill without all the info.
