As residents living directly across the street from the Hamakua Guesthouse,we are writing to express our strong
support for their special permit application(PL-SPP-2023-000052).
The guesthouse has been a welcome addition to our neighborhood since it opened over 12 years ago.We enjoy
striking up conversations with guests venturing out to explore the area,and their presence fosters a sense of
community.
More importantly,having more people around has demonstrably improved the neighborhood's safety.There have
been fewer instances of theft and abandoned vehicles on the street since the guesthouse opened its doors.
We believe the Hamakua Guesthouse is a positive influence on our community,and we urge the Commission to
grant their application.
