Dear OWNER,
This letter is being sent to you as an owner, lessee or addressee of a property with a lower
agricultural use value due to participation in the NON DEDICATED AGRICULTURAL
PROGRAM (referred to as NDA program). This applies to parcels where either a portion
of the parcel or the entire parcel is in the NDA program.
The NDA program is ending. Should you wish, a new application for a different
agricultural use program is required between September 2, 2024 to September 1, 2025.
The land value for all properties where a new application is not submitted will go to
market value on January 1, 2026. There are three different programs you may apply
for:
1. Community Food Sustainability
2. Short Term Commercial Dedication – 3 year dedication
3. Long Term Commercial Dedication – 10 year dedication
Each of the three above noted programs have specific requirements and different benefits
(mainly the lower agricultural use value per acre in active use).
On July 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m., there will be a public hearing where an overview will be
given regarding the Finance Director Rules & Regulations pertaining to the three
agricultural programs listed. This meeting provides an opportunity for members of the
public to testify on the proposed rules (via Zoom, in person or written). See the reverse
side of this letter for the official public notice information.
