Section 106 National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (amended 2006) was initiated with the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) for the subject project, and the CRC's participation in the Section 106 process is communicated by way of this letter. Contingent upon adherence to the Secretary of Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation, the CRC supported the proposed project and concurred with the Federal Highways Administration and SHPO's findings of 'no adverse effect' within the project's Area of Potential Effect (APE). The CRC concurred that the bridge is the only historic property currently identified within the APE. The CRC did not offer additional names of Native Hawaiian Organizations or Hawaiian descendants to contact for consultation.
