I have known John Metzler, the owner of this property, for nearly 20 years and I am familiar with the high-quality projects he has built over his 50+ years of doing business here in Hawaii. I have personally been involved on several of his projects over the years, and I can with all confidence say that this subdivision will be well planned, beautifully designed, built with the highest quality and completed on time. Over the years of knowing John Metzler, he has always had the best interests of the community as it's ultimate purpose. Here in Hawaii and abroad, our young people are currently facing a more serious shortage of housing options than in past years, and most would like to have the ability to contribute to the community by providing agricultural products at the many wholesale and retail outlets in our region. This suggests that rather than pastureland, which is seems to be the default usage these days, this project has been designed to be affordable enough for our young families while offering enough space for a range of intensive agricultural activities. The existing homes there already compliment Waimea's upcountry charm, and it has been assured that any new homes there will also be designed and built to honor this traditional style.
