Command Deputy Managing Director AGENDA NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Youth Commission of the County of Hawai‘i in accordance with the provisions of sections 92-3.7 and 92-7, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes (HRS) and Hawai‘i County Charter, Section 5-3.1. through Section 5-3.4. DATE: Wednesday, June 12, 2024 TIME: 3:00p.m. - 4:30p.m. IN-PERSON LOCATION: Hawaiʻi Council Chambers - Hilo Hawaiʻi County Building 25 Aupuni Center Hilo, Hawaiʻi 96720 ONLINE/ZOOM: https://www.zoomgov.com/j/1603841982 NOTICE REGARDING INTERACTIVE CONFERENCE TECHNOLOGY (ICT): Youth Commission members and members of the public may participate in this meeting via the Zoom interactive video conference platform. A meeting held by interactive conference technology shall be automatically recessed for up to thirty (30) minutes to restore communication when audiovisual communication cannot be maintained with all members participating in the meeting or with the “in-person” location identified in this agenda. The meeting may reconvene when either audiovisual communication is restored, or audio-only communication is established after an unsuccessful attempt to restore audiovisual communication. If it is not possible to reconvene the meeting as provided in this section within thirty (30) minutes after an interruption to communication, the meeting shall be automatically terminated. 1. CALL TO ORDER, QUORUM Commissioners attending the meeting from private locations shall advise if any person is with them (except for the names of minors). 2. Proposed meeting time for reconsideration, discussion, and approval is 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. b. Selection of Adult Advisors to the Commission i. Commission staff have posted the online application for adult advisors. The Commission may discuss and approve submitted applications at this meeting1. 1. Discussion and vote on Alanna Barber’s application ii. Executive Session: The Commission anticipates convening an executive meeting regarding the above matter, pursuant to Section 92-5(a)(4), HRS, for the purpose of consulting with the Commission’s attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the Commission’s powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities. Any Other Announcements, Including Events of Interest for Youth Commissioners 8. ADJOURNMENT Submitting Written or Oral Testimony: . Pursuant to § 92-3, HRS, interested persons who want to provide oral testimony may do so either at the time the committee takes public statements on the agenda, or at the time the specific agenda item is called. Please note that public testimony may be limited to three (3) minutes in length per agenda item. Those wishing to testify in person should register with the Commission Secretary at the in-person location at the meeting. Those submitting written testimony at the meeting should bring 16 copies for distribution. Testimony may be submitted by (1) mail to Youth Commission c/o Office of the Mayor, 25 Aupuni St., Suite 2603, Hilo, HI 96720; or (2) by email to Alexy.Katko@hawaiicounty.gov, Official.EPGEE@gmail.com, and Kylamariehawaii@gmail.com. In order for the Commissioners to timely receive written testimony and to be in compliance with Chapter 92, HRS, any interested person who wants to submit written testimony should submit his/her/their written testimony, which shall be received by the Commission, by SUNDAY, JUNE 9, 2024. Please note that submitting testimony AFTER this deadline may result in the commissioners not receiving your written testimony until JUNE 12, 2024, at 3:00 pm (HST). Please submit separate testimony for each item. Timely written testimony will be distributed to the Commissioners by JUNE 10, 2024, by 3:00 p.m. All oral and written testimony will be public record.
