WHEREAS, Chapter 127A Hawaii Revised Statutes and Chapter 7, Articles 1 and 2 of

and
WHEREAS, on August 24, 2024 at 10:06 a.m., I as the Mayor of the County of Hawaii

the impending severe weather and Red Flag Warning conditions from Tropical Storm Hone; and

the Emergency Rule prohibiting outdoor burning and open flames; and
WHEREAS, continued road flooding and downed trees have resulted in temporary road
closures due to the severe weather conditions associated with Tropical Storms Hone, and as such
the following emergency shelters remain open for the community: Waiakea High School Gym,

Cafeteria, Honoka`a High School Gym, Ka`u Gym, Na`alehu Elementary School Cafeteria; and
WHEREAS, continued sudden, severe and/or consistent events of high winds, heavy
