Mahalo for the opportunity to provide testimony regarding the request made by Roger Jensen
"To Operate a Four (4) Bedroom Bed and Breakfast Establishment" at TMK: (3) 7-5-023:055,
North Kona Hawai'i.
I am 100% against approving a B&B in our quiet, safe neighborhood without some legal
guidelines regarding the following:
If our County's Planning Department permits this B&B, how many more B&B's will be
permitted?
How does a B&B help combat HI County's housing crisis?
How much vehicle traffic will be caused?
Where will vehicles park?
How much pedestrian traffic will be caused?
Since our neighborhood does not have sidewalks, what is the plan for increased pedestrian
traffic?
How much noise will be produced by this commercial business?
How will commercial noise impact our residential neighborhood?
Approval of this permit without guidelines about these valid questions would be a dangerous
precedent. Please don't permit B&B's that turn local neighborhoods into hotel strips.
