Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women is charged with the duty and responsibility of
developing information as the state commission on the status of women requires or as the committee
deems advisable concerning the status of women within Hawaii County; and other appropriate duties
and responsibilities as may be deemed necessary. This Committee shall submit to the state commission
plans and proposals affecting the status of women in Hawaii County. This Committee shall endeavor to
secure the widest possible citizen participation in its efforts and, for this purpose, may utilize existing
public or private organizations.

A. Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women (HSCSW) Ex-Officio member Jennifer
Stotter's liaison report concerning HSCSW news and updates.
B. Family Violence Interagency Committee (FVIC): meeting with local agencies in
collaboration with Office of Prosecuting Attorney on issues of domestic and family violence
in Hawaii County; awareness and prevention efforts
a. Meeting Dates:
i. East Side: Meeting first Monday of the month
ii. West Side: Meeting every second Wednesday of the month
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
A. Introduction of new CSW member: Christen Zulli.
B. Voting on new slate of CSW officers for 2024 -2025: Chair, Vice Chair, Recording
Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer.
C. Letter from Kaua'i Committee on the Status of Women to Governor Josh Green:
a. Discussion and possible action on urging Governor Green to fill the Executive
Director vacancy on the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women; and
b. Discussion and possible action on encouraging all county Committees on the
Status of Women to work together to amplify our efforts statewide.
D. Real Women's Essay Contest for 2025: Brief discussion on the history of the contest
regularly performed by CSW and direction of the project moving forward with the local
schools.
IX. OLD BUSINESS
A. Re-approval of the CSW logo merchandise for this new fiscal year (logo was approved
during last fiscal year); logo will be provided on Zoom for review and approval.
B. Outreach Sub-Committee report by committee member Shana Kukila: An effort to advance
CSW's civic engagement with the community.
a. Get Out the Vote 2024 Partnership Events:
i. September 19, 2024: Constitution Day 2024 at UH Hilo (see flyer in board
packet) (open to public).
ii. September 27, 2024: Ladies Night Out at Civic Center; CSW will have a
voter registration and education table (not open to public)
iii. September 28, 2024: Civic Engagement at Kea'au High School with the
League of Women Voters of Hawai'i County; CSW has been invited to
attend this event (open to public).
b. CSW Community and Voter Survey Update: Survey of girls and women's issues in
Hawaii County.
c. Malama `Ohana Working Group (Act 86) Update:A legislative working group formed
in 2023 to transform child welfare services across the State.
C. Communications Sub-Committee reports
a. Family Services Directory: CSW and OPA completes its update of the 2024-2025
resource directory for families in Hawaii County; resources distribution updates.
D. Reports on Legislative/Advocacy Priorities
a. Women's Coalition regrouping in fall: Women's Legislative Caucus that determines
legislative priorities of women's issue in the State for the upcoming year.
b. Missing Murdered Native Hawaiian Women and Girls (MMNHWG): Legislative task
force run by HSCSW.

A. Recent resignations; CSW has two vacancies

A. Open Forum: Public comments on issues not on the agenda for consideration for the
agenda at the next meeting.

NOTICE TO LOBBYISTS
If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five days of becoming a
lobbyist(Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b), Hawaii County Code).
A lobbyist means, "any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five
hours in any month or$275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative
or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials." (Article
15, Section 2-91.3(a)(6), Hawaii County Code.)
