RECORD OF THE ORAL TESTIMONY AUGUST 1, 2024

URL address, the public can contact the Planning Department for assistance. The Windward Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, July 1, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., in the County of Hawai‘i, Council Chambers, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawai‘i, with
Chairman Dennis Lin presiding. This meeting was streamed live on YouTube.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Dennis Lin, Louis Daniele III, and Matthias Kusch. COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Lauren Balog, Wayne De Luz, and Chantel Perrin
ALSO PRESENT: Suzanna Tiapula, Esq. (Counsel to the Commission), Jean Campbell, Esq. (Counsel to the Planning Department), Zendo Kern (Planning Director), and Planning Department staff.
Approximately seventeen members of the public were in the audience.
Chair Lin addressed the audience and apologized, explaining that the Commission does not have a quorum to act upon the agenda items. He stated that public testimony will be allowed on any of the agenda items if the public members wished to speak today. If not, there would be another
opportunity at the next meeting in September. He also informed the applicants that all
applications on today’s agenda would be heard at the beginning of the September meeting.

Kusch. He mentioned that Commissioners De Luz, Balog, and Perrin was absent. He then

There were no Zoom testifiers and no further public testimony. Chair Lin reiterated that the Commission does not have a quorum to act upon today’s agenda items, which will be addressed at the beginning of the September meeting. He expressed his
appreciation for everyone’s time and apologized for the inability to act on the agenda items.
