Aloha Leeward Planning Commission,
I'm in strong opposition to item #4. Instead, I support Council Member, Cindy Evans',
proposed telecommunications ordinance, Bill 194, which had previously been forwarded to
you.
The new ordinance proposed by the Director does not have enough protections for our
community. It gives almost total power to Planning and Telecom with no other agencies or
experts involved for review & safeguarding. It rushes the approval process to only 30 days and
has no provisions to protect us from 5G small cell.
I am strongly opposed to any towers near schools, playgrounds, and day care centers, which
the Director's proposal allows.
Chronic illness is affecting a huge proportion of our population, and I suffered from it for 15
debilitating years. I want to help protect others from going through what I did.
Please support Council Member Evans proposed ordinance which has clear, attainable
requirements. It balances the health, safety and welfare of the people and the needs of the tech
industry.
