Aloha from Makawao, upcountry Maui,
I strongly support Council Member Cindy Evans' proposed telecommunications
ordinance, Bill 194, which had already been forwarded to you.
Any rational person can clearly see the new ordinance does not provide enough
protections for our community.
Good grief!....It gives almost total power to Planning with no other agencies or experts
involved! This threatened the quality of al our live and is basically unjust.
It rushes the approval process to only 30 days! It has no provisions to protect us
against 5G small cells! It allows towers at schools and day care centers!
Council Member Evans proposed ordinance has clear, attainable requirements. It is
the perfect balance between the health, safety and welfare needs of the people and
the needs of the tech industry.
Thank you for your consideration in this critical issue affecting the health and well
being of all who call Hawaii our home.
