Brann DeVera, Ashley From: Joy Brann < Sent: Thursday, September 26, 2024 5:53 AM To: Planning General Plan Subject: Revise Hawaii General Plan - Testimony Aloha Planning Department, The final draft of the Big Island general plan does not support the future of Big Island, and should be revised or thrown-out and redone. The current general plan intends to further regulate and fine the public, limit travel, cluster people into dense housing and more control. It has no conclusive plan to help communities prosper. The main intent of the plan should support innovation, not "sustainability" which implies herding live stock into boxes while over-regulating them. Why have you have chosen to model the Hawaii general plan using the exact same words like: cluster, stakeholder, buffer zones, change codes, amend and more? It appears the proposed plan was not created by the Big Island Planning Department when so many other General Plans throughout the United States/ Mainland have the same language! We the people of Hawaii envision thriving communities, environmental support and economic alternatives that support the healthy prosperity of farmers, families, and homeowners. We the people do not consent to the unlawful dictates of the corporation masquerading as local government. We do not accept the proposed general plan. Mahalo, Joy Brann, MPH
