Temporary Closure of Pauahi Street from May 28-31, 2024
HILO, HAWAI`I – The Department of Public Works Engineering Division announces a temporary closure
of Pauahi Street from Aupuni Street to Kamehameha Avenue. The road will be closed from May 28 to
May 31, 2024, between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm. This closure is necessary to safely facilitate the delivery
and installation of the bridge planks using a heavy equipment crane.
During the closure, please use Manono Street or Ponahawai Street as alternative routes to access the
back side of Pauahi Street.
We encourage residents, commuters, and stakeholders to stay updated on project developments and
potential changes to traffic patterns by visiting the Department of Public Works website at
