Public Notice for Kaiwilahilahi Gulch Bridge [35-1] Closure
Starting on Thursday, January 18, 2024, the Kaiwilahilahi Gulch Bridge [35-1] in P pa‘aloa, managed by the
County of Hawai'i Department of Public Works Engineering Division, will undergo closure. Following a recent
inspection, a specific section of the bridge has experienced heightened deterioration. Repair work is slated for
the summer of 2024, and the bridge will stay closed until these repairs are concluded. For safety, visible traffic
control signs and barricades will be strategically positioned along the roadside.
Alternative routes to the area can be accessed via Ave or Old Highway.
Refer to the accompanying map to pinpoint the exact location of the closed bridge.
